Hey Grace,
So I just saw this portrait, and I think it's an interesting sketch.
I would actually recommend you to pick up http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Painting-Techniques-Practical-Collection/dp/0240521749 if you don't have it already. There are some really interesting tutorials in there all about how to make quick sketches REALLY pop.
Hopefully this helps somewhat, either way, just keep on rockin' Grace! :)
thanks matt, this was intended to be an hourish study but i got distracted by a long discussion about 20 mins into it. I'll definitely look into the book when work calms down some, thanks!
