This is a long shot, but... would you ever want to do some group study or are you doing these already with other people?
If you would like to, we could either A) do the same study even down to the picture for comparison, or B) could just make like themes daily to study or something.
It might be after this month that I can participate if you would like, but I'm usually logged into skype if you'd like to talk about it.
OH, my blog has my skype name listed on the side: http://matkaminski.blogspot.com/
Anyway... I don't know if you're looking for any sort of critique, but I can throw it out there...
The initial sketch seems to have more life to it.
The planes seemed to be more resolved and handled whereas in your final they seem to have gotten lost and / or protrude in the opposite direction that would be natural.
The lighting situation seems to be pretty spot on, but the eye that is furthest from us seems to have changed somewhat from sketch to render.
To really push it try making a few extreme highlights on the planes that are closest to the light and see what that does.
Also it could help to consider a secondary (softer) light on the opposite side to really push the contrast.
Lastly, try using a small-ish brush for some very subtle highlights in the hair and eyes.
You'd be amazed how a small fleck of white can make the eyes look a ton more lively.
Anyway, I'm not sure if you wanted a critique, but I thought I would throw my name into the hat.
Have a good day Grace! :)

Hey thanks a lot :D My personal goal this month is to do 2 illustrations for a friend's fan art book (project KKG: http://www.gamersforgood.com/KKG-Artbook/KKG). My current schedule is rather chaotic so I don't want to make timed commitments I can't keep, but maybe in the future :)

Thanks a lot for the crits! Keeping the same energy from sketch to render is definitely an ongoing challenge.
