Zombified self-portrait WIP
It's been a while since I painted for fun, so I'm picking up a new character of the week topic on conceptart.org - depicting myself as a zombie.
And with all the WoW stuff I've been looking at lately, I couldn't help putting armor on myself. Go figure.
Next to me is my golden retriever. She looks much friendly in real life, but is just about as crazy.

Life painting, with costume
I really wish there was a longer pose so I can capture the awesome costume...
4 5-minute ones, 6 10-minute ones, and a 30-minute study.

Sketch night - ancient robotic gargoyle
From this Monday's sketch night. The "ancient" is the difficult part. I don't think I succeeded in conveying that.

Centaurman versus Splashwoman
8-bit character redesign activity on conceptart.org.
Went to TX for laborday weekend as well as to help my boyfriend move in, and came back with a finance and a ring instead :) Spent today moving him in and buying/building some furniture, as well as finishing this entry.
Here are characters one can choose for the activity. I want mine to look really serious in contrast to the two goofy 8-bit megaman characters I'm basing my entry on.

Lunch sketch - the orc statue
Computer ran out of juice halfway through the lunch + sketch session, and that'll be my excuse for this chicken scratch of a painting. At least the computer's smart enough to turn itself off without losing my progress.

Life Drawing
Kind of not feeling the longer poses tonight... the 5-minute ones on top right beats out the longer ones hands-down. At some point I'll learn to keep the simplicity and energy in the longer poses too.

Beach sketch and skech night doodles
Had a wonderful time painting on the beach last week, even though my rusty watercolor painting turned out pretty meh :P Also, a couple of sketches from tonight's sketch night, topic being "shadow ninja of dragon octopus." Crazy as usual.

Snow Spirit WIP1 + 2
For conceptart.org's character of the week: Yuki-Onna, The Snow Spirit .
I've been starting a lot of WIP's, heheh. I guess that's what happens when I'm pressured to produce polished work for my job. It's just so fun to do loose sketches :P
Thanks to Gino's paintover, I have a better composition now :)

Life drawing
Too lazy to scan in the pencil sketches, so these will have to do. 5-10 minute poses mostly. Just having fun.

The festival - WIP 1
Gonna see how much I can get done over the weekend. It's been a while since I tried to do an environment painting. All the fear about bad perspective need to go away.

Pattern exercise - day 3
A speed painting of a Gothic architecture, study from photo. It's fascinating how Gothic architectures put all the intricate elements together.

Pattern exercise - day 1
Going to try to get back into the habit of doing one-hour daily studies. Goal is a month's worth of pattern/architectural studies. Kicking off with some patterns.
