Sub-zero Face sketches
I'm not good at drawing dude faces. For practice, as well as to get to know the character better, I'd like to figure out what my sub-zero looks like underneath the mask.

Subzero - another take, 01
This month's goal: produce 2 reasonably "finished" paintings.
Addicted to the same several games, so chipping at it a little bit every night.

Sol interior plan, block-in
Interior workings of S. S. Sol. Want to try and plan it all out.
Some of the rooms have changed in function after the involuntary transition of ownership.
Plus a few sketches of lounge furniture. Guess which one is the captain's favorite chair :) (hint - it's not the small one...)

Sol WIP (4)
Beginning to fix some scale issues on elements that look much too thick. Blobbed in lighting for most of the stuff in 3d coat.

Sol Wip (3)
Spent all morning on... ropes :\
Geo semi final- planning on duping some of the smaller alpha planes but everything else is there (pending tweaks and polish). Now just have to double up on the coffee and carry on painting.
It's actually great fun to devote a weekend (especially a 3-day one) to one project. I should do this more often.
Edit:
Textures blocked-in. Now noodle time for realz.
A bit behind the schedule today, decided to lay back a bit this afternoon. Will see how much further I can get before I crash.

S. S. Sol Unwrapped
Tried to unwrap the whole thing in 3D coat but ended up redoing just about everything in Maya... I'm kind of anal about how my unwraps should be laid out. Maybe eventually I can train my brains to ignore the unwrap completely and just let 3D coat do all the work... but for now, I still really want my layouts to be logical.
Unwrapped with texture block-in. One thing I also like about unwrapping in maya - if I see a spot on the geo I don't quite like, I can really easily change it.
Update:
Textured some of it.

S. S. Sol Block-In 2
added some details to the ship.
Realized I automatically deleted too many under-faces... haha, talk about force of habit -_-
The front seems to need more details. Might begin texture block-ins anyway and adjust on the go? the uhh support beam things definitely look too big now without supporting smaller shapes.
Need ropes, braces, nets etc.
